Volunteer Terms and Conditions of Application

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Better Minds Blackpool CIC. Before completing your application, please carefully review the following terms and conditions:

1. Eligibility:

  • Volunteers must meet the minimum age requirement specified for each volunteer position. (if there is one specified)

  • All volunteers will require a Standard DBS check to be carried out prior to any work which may involve children and young people. Certain volunteer positions may require specific skills, qualifications, or certifications, these will be discussed in advance of any offer of a voluntary role.

2. Application Process:

  • Complete and submit the volunteer application form provided by email which will be submitted to Better Minds Blackpool CIC. We will have your email address from your initial enquiry.

  • Provide accurate and truthful information on the application form.

  • Upload a copy of you curriculum vitae (CV) or a short video in place of this which describes why you are applying for the position.

  • Consent to volunteer terms and conditions of application which includes background checks, employment and DBS checks.

  • You will receive an email from our chosen third party organisation, you must engage with providing all the information required to complete a DBS check.

  • Alternatively, if you have an online DBS on the update system you will need to inform us and provide your refence number for us to complete these checks. An email template will be sent after submitting your application along with the instructions from the third party we allocate.

3. Volunteer Placement:

  • Volunteer placements are based on the needs of Better Minds Blackpool CIC and the availability of volunteer positions.

  • Placement decisions are made at the discretion of Better Minds Blackpool CIC and are not guaranteed.

  • We will attempt at every opportunity to ensure that your volunteer position leads to employment opportunities where appropriate, this may be with ourselves or exploring similar paid employment opportunities elsewhere.

4. Volunteer Commitment:

  • Volunteers are expected to fulfil the time commitment specified for their volunteer position. This is negotiable and will be agreed in advance.

  • Notify Better Minds Blackpool CIC in advance of any planned absences or changes to your volunteer schedule.

  • Adhere to the policies, procedures, and guidelines outlined by Better Minds Blackpool CIC during your volunteer service.

5. Confidentiality:

  • Volunteers may have access to confidential information about Better Minds Blackpool CIC, its partners, service users and donors.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive information and refrain from disclosing such information to unauthorised individuals or organisations.

6. Code of Conduct:

  • Treat all individuals with dignity, respect, courtesy and empathy.

  • Refrain from engaging in any form of discrimination, harassment, or bullying.

  • Conduct yourself in a professional manner and uphold the values and reputation of Better Minds Blackpool CIC.

7. Health and Safety:

  • Follow all health and safety protocols and procedures established by Better Minds Blackpool CIC.

  • Report any hazards, accidents, or incidents to the appropriate personnel immediately.

8. Liability Waiver:

  • Volunteers understand and acknowledge that volunteering with Better Minds Blackpool CIC may involve certain risks and although we make every effort to mitigate these risks volunteers must adhere to any policies and procedures relating to lone working.

  • Volunteers agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Better Minds Blackpool CIC from any liability arising from their volunteer activities.

9. Termination of Volunteer Service:

  • Better Minds Blackpool CIC reserves the right to terminate the volunteer service of any individual at any time for reasons including but not limited to misconduct, violation of policies, or failure to fulfil volunteer commitments.

10. Agreement:

  • By submitting your volunteer application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by the terms and conditions outlined herein.
